KGL U-17 Colts Championship Returns for Fifth Season

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has launched the fifth edition of the KGL Foundation Inter-Regional Under-17 Colts Championship.

The launch event took place in the Conference Room of the KGL House in Labone, Accra, and was attended by key stakeholders, including Elliot Dadey, the CEO of the KGL Foundation, and Kurt Okraku, the President of the GFA.

This initiative, which was first launched in 2021, has been crucial for identifying and nurturing young football talents in Ghana, providing them a platform to showcase their abilities.

Activities

This year, KGL will supply each participating team with 60 kits, consisting of 30 home jerseys and 30 away jerseys, along with footballs, bibs, and cones. The ten Regional Football Associations will select the best U-17 players from their colts competitions to represent their respective regions.

KGL praised

In his remarks at the launch on Tuesday, Mr. Okraku praised KGL for its ongoing support for the development of young talent. “This is a celebration of youthful talent, regional pride, and the enduring power of football to unite and transform,” he stated.

He added: “Five years ago, when no one in Ghana believed in the vision of the Football Association, KGL stepped up for us. My sincerest appreciation goes to the leadership of KGL for your commitment to reviving Ghanaian football, especially your dedication to providing these young boys the opportunity to realize their dreams.”
