Asantehene, Lands Ministry to host inaugural ‘Mining in Motion’ Summit in Accra

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, is set to hold Ghana’s inaugural Mining in Motion (MIM) 2025 summit in Accra from June 2 to June 4, 2025.

A statement issued by the Ministry on Tuesday highlighted that the summit, organized under the theme “Sustainable Mining & Local Growth – Leveraging Resources for Global Impact,” seeks to enhance Ghana’s position as Africa’s premier minerals hub.

The event is also supported by the Ashanti Green Initiative.

Targets
According to the statement, MIM seeks to promote responsible and innovative Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) practices, advocate for policy reforms, and foster international collaboration. “The government is positioning the ASM sector as a cornerstone of its green industrialization efforts, making 2025 a pivotal year for investment opportunities in Ghana’s small-scale and artisanal mining sector.

“The Mining in Motion Summit connects participants with policymakers, industry experts, and innovators who are shaping sustainable practices and driving local growth. Join us for actionable insights into Ghana’s role as Africa’s largest gold producer and its success in fostering local economic growth through responsible ASM.”
