Minority condemns raid on Ntim Fordjour’s residence over ‘Cocaine Flight’ claims

The Minority in Parliament has condemned the raid on Ntim Fordjour’s home in connection with his claims about a cocaine flight.

Supporters and prominent members of the NPP gathered at the residence of the Assin South MP and Ranking Member on the Defence and Interior Committee to show solidarity following an attempt by NIB operatives to arrest him on Wednesday afternoon.

Strong statement
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo Markin delivered a strong statement denouncing this action by the NIB.

Markin criticized the government for focusing on trivial matters instead of addressing pressing issues such as galamsey.

He accused the government of attempting to intimidate Rev. Ntim Fordjour, whom he praised as a crucial member of the NPP caucus and a leader of the Defence and Interior Committee.

Markin stated, “Joblessness is a significant issue. The galamsey crisis remains unresolved. If some state agents continue to focus on trivialities, it will signal the beginning of the end for this government.”

Assurance
He reassured Rev. Fordjour that he is not alone in this struggle, asserting, “Rev. is not a loner. He has never walked alone and will never walk alone. He is the leader of our caucus, and he speaks for us.”

Addressing the pressure from government officials, he added, “Nobody should attempt to single him out or intimidate him. He will fear no evil because he walks with his God.”

Markin urged the government to concentrate on real issues and reaffirm its commitments to the people, saying, “Enough is enough! Let’s engage, uphold the constitution, and focus on what truly matters.”
