Bukom Banku wants to be IGP, awaits Mahama’s appointment

Ghanaian boxing sensation and entertainer Braimah Isaac Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, has set his sights on an unexpected new role—Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The outspoken boxer says he is patiently waiting for President John Dramani Mahama to appoint him, especially as the government begins to reward loyal National Democratic Congress (NDC) members with key positions.

In an exclusive interview with GhanaWeekend, Bukom Banku revealed that he actively participated in the NDC’s campaign but has yet to visit the Jubilee House to personally congratulate President Mahama. So far, he has only done so via social media.

However, he insists he’s in no rush, preferring to give the President time to settle before making his move.
