Opare-Addo, Emelia Arthur and Dzifa Gomashie approved by Parliament as Ministers

Parliament has approved three more nominees by President John Dramani Mahama to lead key ministries. This decision follows extensive debates in the House.

The approved nominees are Abla Dzifa Gomashie – Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, George Opare-Addo – Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment and Emelia Arthur – Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Dzifa Gomashie, a prominent advocate for arts and culture, is expected to enhance tourism by promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage and increasing revenue.

George Opare-Addo’s role at the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment aims to tackle challenges facing young people. These include employment, education and empowerment programs.

Emelia Arthur will focus on improving sustainability and productivity in the fisheries and aquaculture sector. Her experience in rural development and fisheries is expected to guide her efforts.

On Wednesday, the Parliamentary Appointments Committee vetted the nominees assessing their qualifications and plans for their portfolios.

These approvals are shaping the administration of President John Dramani Mahama.
