Accra Welcomes African Football Chiefs for Landmark CAF Executive Meeting

Ghana’s Accra city will be the focal point of African football decision-making and diplomacy as it stages the first sitting of the newly elected Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee on April 26, 2025.

The gathering, a class affair at large, will take place in the upscale Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, a symbol of the continent’s greater emphasis on excellence, professionalism, and unity in football administration.

This historic meeting is the first convening of the newly mandated leadership of CAF, headed by the newly re-elected CAF President with nearly unanimous backing of all 54 Member Associations.

It is a moment of great import, not merely for CAF but for the future of African football.

Arguably most crucial on the agenda will be the election of CAF’s new Vice-Presidents – a step towards satisfying the federation’s governance requirements and the best possible leadership in place to steer African football into the future.

The assembly promises to tackle key issues like competition structures, grassroots development, infrastructure growth, and new initiatives to drive football excellence on the continent.

The conference is also a platform for solidifying continental unity and collaboration, with seasoned administrators from across Africa gathering to harmonize towards a shared vision of advancement.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is leaving no stone unturned in its preparation, ensuring that the meeting would be a manifestation of Ghana’s warmth and passion for the sport.
