ORAL is here for us, we fully support it – Togbe Afede

Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State and President of the Asogli Traditional Area, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his efforts in combating corruption and recovering stolen state lands and properties through the introduction of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL)

The ORAL Committee, tasked with investigating suspected corruption and validating information on stolen public resources, is currently processing over 700 petitions from the public.

Speaking during President Mahama’s ‘Thank You Tour’ in the Volta Region on Friday, January 24, Togbe Afede XIV expressed his full support for the President’s commitment to fighting corruption and restoring accountability.

“ORAL was great news for all of us. It’s bad enough to suffer, but it’s worse to know that you are suffering because a few people think they deserve all that the state has to offer and get themselves involved in a desperate scramble for our limited resources under property-owning democracy. We support all your intentions, and all your plans to retrieve everything that was lost.Local event listings and tickets

“Funds that were stolen, lands that were stolen, buildings etc. Your Excellency, you have our fullest support. We’re excited that you decided to make it unattractive for anybody to embark on that road. And that is why you have warned your own appointees. It’s our hope they respect that.”

He described President Mahama’s directive for his appointees to declare their assets as “heartwarming.”

The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State also praised President Mahama’s reset agenda, highlighting its focus on governance and accountability.

“Ghanaians have welcomed your reset agenda, a brave fight against corruption… Ghanaians appreciate the fact that you are moving at the speed of light.”

Additionally, he commended the government’s vision for a 24-hour economy and its proposed initiatives, describing them as forward-thinking and transformative.
