Berekum Chelsea charged by GFA over supporters’ misconduct

The Ghana Football Association has charged Berekum Chelsea with misconduct after their Premier League victory against Medeama at Golden City Park.

Supporters of the home side allegedly pelted Medeama officials during the game, which was temporarily halted due to the disruption.

“Berekum Chelsea have been charged with a breach of section 16 of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, following their Ghana Premier League match against Medeama,” the GFA stated.

The club is accused of failing to ensure the safety of match officials and controlling their supporters’ inappropriate behaviour.

Berekum Chelsea has until Thursday, January 23, 2025, to respond to the charges.

Chelsea secured a dramatic late 2-1 victory, lifting them into mid-table, but the aftermath of the game has now attracted disciplinary action.
