NAPO to address Science Communication Conference in Nairobi

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, a prominent Ghanaian politician and former Minister of Energy and Education, is set to deliver the keynote address at the “Future of Science Communication Conference” in Nairobi, Kenya, from February 25–26, 2025.

The conference, organized by the Alliance for Science Global Consortium — a collaboration between the Alliance for Science, Michigan State University, and Farming Future Bangladesh—aims to address critical global challenges through improved science communication.

Dr Opoku Prempeh (Napo), who was the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential running mate in the 2024 elections, will speak on the topic, “The Sustainability Challenge for Africa.”

Experience
Drawing from his extensive experience as a policy expert and former Minister of Education, he is expected to provide valuable insights into Africa’s sustainable socio-economic development, particularly in the context of food security, global health, climate change, and energy.

The conference
The conference will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including global experts, policymakers, media leaders, indigenous knowledge holders, and grassroots advocates. The primary goal is to combat misinformation and enhance communication strategies in these critical sectors, fostering a more informed and collaborative approach to addressing Africa’s sustainability challenges.

This event underscores the importance of science communication in driving sustainable development and highlights Dr Opoku Prempeh’s role as a key voice in shaping Africa’s future.
